Charges for the community fees for the RAGO are in the region of 100 - 110 Euros per month, and the exact amount relates to the size and positioning of apartments. It also depends on what services have been requested by each Bloque.

This has come as somewhat as a dissapointment, as when I asked FADESA what the likely costs would be, they informaed me it would be about 60 - 70 Euros.

Yes, 100 is definitely high. Elsewhere we pay 60 euros a month to maintain pool, gardens, tennis courts and a maintenance guy who is there 5 days a week.

Someone said to me that maybe the first year is particularly high so that the management company can get a 'float' going. Once there is money in the back they could reduce the cost in subsequent years. Lets hope.

Hi Keith, I have heard this before. So when I was at the AEA offices, I posed the question, will it reduce in time. They were puzzled at this one, and said no, this is the price.....

I actually think they way to reduce the costs is to determine what it is we want as a group and get our respective bloque presidents to negotiate a lower price (or less services). For example, I don't see the point of the pool being open all year round?

At the end of the day we EMPLOY the management agency and they have to do as they are told by our collective group. They can of course offer us advice, but we don't have to accept it. And we always have the option of sacking them in favour of another agency if we don't like them.

So anything can be changed!

I for one don't mind too much paying this high amount at the moment, but would definitely expect this price to drop in the future given that in our other place we receive MORE services for LESS money.

Andy,

The problem with closing the pool during the winter is that you will have to re-apply for a licence for it to be opened. If, during the time it is closed, there are any changes in building regs., health & safety etc. you will not be issued a new licence until the pool conforms to the new regulations. This will probably cost your community more money than keeping the pool open year round.

Shouldn't worry Andy, when we bought we were told around 70 euros a month. It started at 90 odd, second year went up to 120 odd and this year went up to 146 Shocked

146 euros is disgusting! I cant work out how they justify that. Where are you?

Like I said earlier, we are paying 60 euros a month for pool, gardens, tennis, footbal courts, and full time maintenance chappy.

Do you have some services over and above what we have? Is that where the extra money is going?

We're at the Dorchester with our own personal maid and chauffeur Laughing

No, we are on El Rincon at IC. Think there's about 70 odd properties in all. We have the pool open April to Oct, with lifeguard June to Sept. There are about 6 lifts and the maintenance costs on those are pretty substantial. One part time cleaner and I think one full time, one part time concierge/gardener, although the garden maintenance is appalling. I think the two beds pay around 120 euros and the poor penthouses are around 200 euros because it's all worked out on your overall sq footage. Oh yes, nearly forgot, one of the reasons for the increase this year was to get a fund going so there would be money for re painting in a few years time.
