Property Insurance

Dear fellow owners,

Can anybody give advice on insurance companies that can provide comprehensive property insurance for Costa esuri area ?

Any recomendations/suggestions would be gratefully received.

We have used them for several years now & I think others have also
They are reasonable priced with good cover ,but so far we have had no need to make a claim & I suppose that's when I will find out how good they are

Yes we did meet Gloria at her office in Heulva, she was excellent so a very good recommendation.

I'm glad to hear Intasure were prompt with your claim.
That's the one thing with insurance you never know how good they are until you need them

What do you mean by robbed? Was your house burgled whilst you were not there, or where you actually robbed in person?

Please tell - always thought that it was so safe at Costa Esuri! How did this happen?

Hi Sunnuva,

we actually live in Villablanca, and had our house burgled one afternoon when we went to the beach! We were only gone for about two hours (4 til 6) and when we came back noticed that all the portable electrical items had gone (cameras, laptops, playstations etc), anything that could be easily carried. They must have been watching us. They caught them - two 14 year olds, but nothing was recovered.
Have since had Iron bars installed to all windows, an alarm which connects to the local police station and a big dog in the garden! (After the horse has bolted they say).
Intasure sent up an agent from CDS and everything was covered and promptly replaced (however, it had to be replaced with items from UK as that was where they were originally purchased)
We had never been burgled before in the UK and this obviously made us feel a bit down - at the time we had only been here six months. I think with the amount of Security you have in Esuri, you shouldn't have a problem.

Hi Matt,

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. It is strange that the perpetrators were two 14 year olds. I am aware that Spain has the largest cocaine problem in Europe (outside London) and has the largest general drug abuse problem. No surprise really, when half of all drugs used in Europe pass through Galicia.....

I have recently become aware of the undercurrent of drug problem in Ayamonte itself - two of the persons "directing cars" at the parking areas in town, the couple, apparently used to have a home, jobs etc until just a few years ago. They are now destitute due to drugs. I was told of this by locals who went to school with one of them, I think.
Apparently a couple of tradesmen in town (will not name them here) are also users, and have repeatedly conned people out of cash in promising work which are never delivered. Police have been called at some instances, but they are quickly released.

In any event, it is good to hear that you at least got your items covered by the insurance. I guess that is what it is there for.

Just had my renewel quote from Intasure for this years' cover.

It's gone up a whole two Euros from last year Shocked

Think I might shop around Laughing

This insurance was 'arranged' by my bank (when I took out my mortgage with them), and its nearly 3 times the quote from Intasure......
