Been past the new shopping centre on the hill up towards the parador today. It looks like it's almost ready, but probably not in time for Xmas. Mercadona are fitting their unit out, so are Zara and another shop called Suario whatever that is.

I spotted it the other day too. I think its to cater for the new townhouses oposite the building site, but its also quite handy for CE. The Macadona looks big, possibly bigger (and hopefully with a better range) than Eroske & Supersol.

Supersol is the only place we managed to find some curry powder & source Smile

Have you come across that new English shop in Ayamonte town centre near the food market? They might do things like curry powder, etc.

Judging by the size of the commercial centre in Ayamonte, I would say they are intending to cater for shoppers from anywhere between Faro and Huelva! At the moment Faro (Forum) or Huelva are the nearest places to go for chain stores such as Zara, so it is well placed and I am guessing they should get quite good trade there. It will bring even more people into the area. Not sure what the people of Ayamonte think, but it will be good for business there.

Hello Keith, there is an English shop called "Euro Supplies" near the Ayamonte fishmarket
The Supersol on the Muelle de Portugal has a section of international products which looks good to me. (chicken madras sauce and Lyle´s golden syrup, etc.)

As for the commercial centre, it is planned to be open in February. A number of shops from Ayamonte center will move into it, so at the moment there are quite a few places for trespass. Maybe someone should open a fish ´n chips place!

We went to the new Mecadona at this commercial centre (now open Jan 07) and I personally think its the best one. Its got a good range of stock, is obviously new bright & breezy (wide aisles, etc). I didn't take too much note of prices but it seemed fairly reasonable. I judge this by beer prices (i.e. 24 beers for 3.95 euros) Smile

Great!
Should make parking in town easier, too!

Hi Carol,

was at shopping centre last week,

only small amount of parking spaces for large shopping centre and no underground spaces either.

about 80% of units sold, many opening in february.

Thanks Sue!
Not the best of news regarding the parking situation then, eh? What about shaded areas? Oh dear, I'll have to send the chauffeur around the block (several times)... Laughing

The commercial center opened yesterday, about 3/4 off all units are open.
Drycleaners, decorative shop, Springfield, Zara, barber, pizzeria, etc. Haven´t found the Subway yet...I wonder how the Spanish will look upon the "secret sauce".

Ps.parking there is already a challenge!
